TOYO TIRES TO CLOSE MALAYSIAN SILVERSTONE PLANT
Japanese tire manufacturer Toyo Tires has announced that it will be ending production at its Silverstone Berhad (SSM) tire manufacturing subsidiary in Perak, Malaysia. The facility is currently used for manufacturing tires for OEMs, Toyo’s own branded tires, and also Silverstone-branded tires for aftermarket use in Malaysia.

TIRE SALES DOWN IN POLAND LAST YEAR
Throughout 2020, tire manufacturers and importers in Poland recorded drops in sales to the market reaching an average of 13% in almost all tire segments. Only sales of all-season tires increased by 48.4%, motorcycle tires by 11%, and truck tires by 1.9%. Sales of passenger car tires fell by 14.9% and SUV tire sales by 13.7%.
